Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of Scott County Court Docket. Using the resource means accepting them. Anyone who does not agree should discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a government body or court. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act purposes. Scott County and Indiana docket directions are offered only for public-record research. This resource is neither a private-investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of every court and public office. It does not store official records, retrieve a docket, alter a hearing, or file documents.

Its function is to identify Scott Circuit and Superior Courts, Michelle Shelton and the Scott County Clerk’s Office, MyCase, and outside tools that may aid lawful public-record research.

2. Informational Use Only

All content is general information. It does not replace an official Scott County CCS, court order, maintained case file, or a lawyer’s advice. Public access remains governed by the Indiana Access to Public Records Act, the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records, and case-specific orders. Confirm material facts with the Scott County Clerk or the court holding the case.

3. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

If you need a background check for any of those purposes, use an FCRA-compliant screening company.

5. No Legal Advice

No content is legal advice. General Scott County docket information cannot determine how a charge, order, case, or deadline applies to a person. Seek a licensed Indiana attorney for that advice.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Dockets change constantly as cases are filed, hearings are set or reset, and matters are sealed, dismissed, or amended. Gaps are unavoidable. Nothing here is an official statement from a court or clerk. Verify a docket entry or date with the court holding the case.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

We link to clerk of court sites, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid organizations, and outside search services across this site. Clicking one of those links moves you off our platform and onto one we have no control over. We are not responsible for their content, how they handle data, what they charge, or whether their site stays online. Check their terms before using them.

8. Intellectual Property

Scott County Court Docket or its content partners own the site’s text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, distribution, modification, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of this site, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from any claim, legal action, or demand that stems from how you used this site or from breaking these terms. That includes covering our legal fees and related costs.

11. Governing Law

Indiana law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Indiana.

12. Changes to These Terms

We can update these terms whenever we see fit. New terms go into effect the moment they appear on this page.
